Borges is my favorite everything :D I'm talking about Sabato's El Tunel. It's (among other things) about jealousy (which is the most fascinating human vice imo :P). You should definitely read it. Why do you hate in search of lost time? Those books are my shrines. I have read some in Farsi...

You don't have the context my friend. Coelho's bs is meaningless. There's actually a website you can feed with seemingly profound words and get Coelho-like sentences as output. What i quoted is beautiful both in form and content. As for the bold part, you're better than that.

I get what you say. Don't know if i ever told you but my impression of you in your rebellious years at Juventuz was always that you (and your language) were greatly influenced by Holden :D Even the part i quoted above bears a resemblance.

"My hunting hat gave me quite a lot of protection, in a way, but I got soaked, anyway. I didn't care though. I felt so happy all of a sudden, the way old Phoebe kept going around and around. I was damn near bawling, I felt so damn happy, if you want to know the truth. ...It was just that she...

Tell me :D "That history should have copied history was already sufficiently astonishing; that history should copy literature was inconceivable." I loved this line :D Heard Bertolucci made his The Spider's Stratagem based on this story, I'll have it on my watch list.

I find his books overly pretentious. He pretends that he is teaching people simple tips about life, love, everything in the simplest ways and with the most catching lines and that's why many love to quote them all the time but his books, IMO, are too superficial actually.
