He is not that old for a GK and may have a few years left in him. But he is not getting any younger, meaning that injury record will only increase. He was potentially free for months due to expiring this summer. Liverpool extended for 1 year in auto clause in his contract.

I have zero worries about his quality, still top goalie and 33 for a goalie is like 28 for outfield player.


Only genuine fear factor is the injury side of things. It's not that common for a goalie to be injury prone.

It surely doesn’t sound as feasible anymore when you weight in the wages too which will be among our very top earners… i’d say the fee probably needs to be about half of that for it to make sense for us, because the risks are definitely there and ideally we’d have to attach most of that fee and wages to performance/appearances related bonuses.
