bremer - bastoni is debatable, especially considering how long bremer has been out, and yildiz - thuram is not a direct comparison due to different positions, other than that, i don't see a mistake. maybe mckennie will be better next season than the armenian, and thuram can catch barella in quality, but those aren't certainties at all

I'm surprised by some of the comments regarding Vieri's picks.

In particular, these are the ones I would argue:

Di Gregorio > Sommer
Bremer > Bastoni
Kalulu > Pavard
Yildiz > Marcus Thuram

Di Gregorio was the best goalkeeper in Serie A at Monza and he was dealing with an atrocious defence last season. We've seen how good this guy is. Sommer didn't impress me over the Barcelona UCL 2 legs and UCL final.

Bremer vs Bastoni is close, probably even.

Pavard? Kalulu is capable of a brain fart but he's a solid defender and better than Pavard IMO.

Yildiz is a special talent. I haven't seen Marcus Thuram do anything in a big game. I agree they play different positions, so it isn't fair to directly compare. But if I'm a GM and I can only choose one, I'm taking Yildiz.
