Had we won yesterday we'd be in the top 8 with a great chance of immediate qualification, instead we put in a diabolical performance. If we don't get a win against Napoli...

For example, right now we are at place number 14. That means that in the next round we're getting the teams at 19 or 20 (Sporting or Feyenoord) and if we win in this round, in the next round we are getting one of the teams that finished 3rd or 4th (right now it's Atletico or Atalanta).
Just an example how fast things change, at the moment we're 17th and with the current standings we're getting one of Bayern/Real in the next round, and if we win, one of Liverpool/Barcelona in the round of 16 :D

This too will most probably change in the next 40 minutes.

16th plays 17th in the plays off. Right now it would be Madrid V Juve.
No, there is a draw. They draw who from 15 and 16 plays 17 and 18.
It could be 15 vs 18 and 16 vs 17, or 15 vs 17 and 16 vs 18.
But as things stand right now it's Real or Bayern for us.

Actually, as it is right now, it's Real/Bayern vs Juve/City

But this is going to change by the end of the next round.

Might not be a bad thing If we intentionally lose against Benfica then, as Real have Brest and Bayern have Slovan Bratislava in the next round

If PSG don't win tonight, then Stuttgart-PSG in the next round is a knockout match. PSG will have to win in order to qualify, and Stuttgart will qualify only if they don't lose.

You can't make any calculations with this system :)

Yep, I'm at a point where I'd be happy if a draw would take place.
Like the game against Atalanta the other week.

In isolation, draw away in Nipples is a pretty decent result. The problem is a draw is as good as a loss for us right now. Especially given our precarious position in the table and the fact that we’ve drawn 13 times already.

Anyway, Italian teams seem to be doing well in Europe again this season. What chance of Italy finishing in the top 2? @Alen

It's gonna be between Italy and Spain. The problem for Italy is that their points are divided by 8, while the Spanish by 7, which means that they will have to do better as a group than Spain in the knockouts.
Italy are losing Bologna, while Spain are losing Girona after the group stages.
