They definitely are tired. Playing more than 45mins away to Inter with 10 men just a few days before playing with 10 men away to Galatasaray is not easy for any club.

But that doesn't mean that the squad is trash and the players are retards.

Both can be true.
In an alternate reality if we had galas players (minus strikers) and they had ours for a season. Id expect a similar result. Taking and beating Juve is the highlight of the year for them. There is excitement and aura for CL over there, unlike most of their meaningless fixtures. The same could be said about PSV and all the other midtable european teams wr got knocked out from. Same pattern, same enthusiasm and the same lack of it, on our part.

Here it just feels like another big match, and every match we have to win so same rhetoric just a different competition.

We need the 4th place so we can get the CL money and buy a bunch of random players so we can embarrass ourselves again in the CL.

We could win Serie Ass for the next 10 years and the general football public won't give a single fuck.

The only way we can restore our reputation is by not embarrassing ourselves in the UCL.

Did these guys forget there was still a 2nd leg to play? That 2nd half was a fucking disgrace and it was embarrassing to watch.

People are dreaming about beating Gala by more than three goals. We’ve just witnessed what might be the worst humiliation this club has ever suffered.

I felt ashamed being a Juve fan.

Being a Juve fan has become so hard these days, to the point where I have no idea about football anymore. After every game, I just put my hands on my head in shame.

Why did we collapse in 2nd half ?
Bremer injured and Cambiasso taken off after half time ?
Kalulu - Gatti - Kelly - Cabal is not good enough ?
They have lost the wining mentality.

Good point CL is PRIORITY but we had what chance of getting to the final 8? Around zero so getting to final 16 IMO isn't some big accomplishment. Neither is 4th place in league but believing plenty more money comes from that for 2027 season for acquiring players.

Spalletti though probably wanted to do well in both playing his best yesterday. Went horribly wrong and Yildiz looks like he's running on fumes last two matches? Hopefully usual self against Como. Thuram invisible yesterday but needed this Sat. Kelly after HT played subpar. Out of gas? Surprising to me was Perin not starting and if Spalletti thought DiG was the better choice, he might as well have flipped a coin. Only good aspect is that Como plays today in Milan.

Maybe @Alen if you have any spare time, you might let us know money difference between getting 4th place in league (added 2027 CL money) vs advancing CL 16 or even final 8 this season LOL! Asked forum a few times so far with no success. :hi:

Money is a factor, and a huge one, but so is reputation. How the heck do we make ourselves attractive or live to our 'big name' reputation, increase revenue through merchandising and other means, our brand is being hit hard. Failing to advance to last 16, especially against Galatasaray should not be the norm.

This might help. We lose out on 11m (at least), if we dont make it.

For me if we really want to be real, we should finish 11 in the league, and win the UCL

Focus only on Galata, 2x round 16,2x round 8 , 2 time semi and 1 final match

Only 8 matches where you should play 1000% of your capability and let the league finish just go to below #11

We missed out on Openda, we get the CL automatic qualification and CWC qualification (cmiiw)

If the first team need rest play the Next gen in Serie A as a complain to the league

Sorry to specifically bother you @Alen but seems you know more about the numbers than most here and thanks again @PhRoZeN!

quick AI result from asking this ...
Q - how much money does italian soccer clubs lose if they don't qualify for champion league play the following year?
A - Direct Earnings: Clubs lose a base payment of around €15 million just for entering, plus performance bonuses (e.g., €2.1 million per win).
Market Pool & Matchday: The total financial impact often exceeds €100 million when accounting for TV market pool distribution and lost ticket sales/stadium revenue.
Financial Strain: The loss significantly hurts Serie A teams, which already face financial difficulties; for instance, Italian clubs recorded a €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion) loss in the 2021-2022 season.
Relative Earnings: Compared to the Europa League, which provides a significantly lower base fee (e.g., €3.17 million for group stage participation in 2024-25), the Champions League represents the primary revenue driver for top Italian clubs.

Now ..
Q - how much additional money is earned by making champions league final 16?
A - Key financial details for the 2025/26 knockout stage:

  • Round of 16: €11 million.
  • Top 8 Finish Bonus: €2 million.
  • Knockout Playoff Bonus: €1 million.
  • Quarter-finals: Additional €12.5 million.
Guess I'm as big of a in-general football fan as most here, but can't remember last time I watched an Europa match?

This is the most disgraceful moment in Juventus history since Calciopoli. I think it would have been better to rotate the squad against Como, finish 3-0 up against Galatasaray, and try to win in extra time. This should be a matter of honor/pride, if the management/players have it.

If we have any pride left we should do everything in our power to ensure a victory in the return leg, even if we eventually don’t qualify on goal difference we still need to see a proper reaction from this bunch, we’ll be playing at home while we also supposedly have a competent coach in charge so it shouldn’t really be that impossible after all, more so with majority of our key players expected to be available for that game too.

I agree - i don't recall a worse Champions League collapse. Fulham in 2011 was equally bad, but that was in the EL which obviously carries less weight.

I'm also disgusted that neither the coach nor players were able to manage the situation and try to take the best possible result home. That means you do whatever it takes to defend the result at 3-2 or even 4-2 to keep our chances alive. 5-2 is almost impossible to come back from, especially when you know they're likely score in the return leg as well.
