That John Collins penalty is a core early memory for me.

Wild to think that we had Collins and Paul Lambert playing in the world cup alongside scrubs like Darren Jackson.

Tom Boyd still the only former Motherwell player to score a World Cup goal for Brazil

ahh yes baggio. most overrated player in that era.

basically baggio was what lautaro is today. just an overrated player that no fans care about.

I was younger and easily impressed in the 1990s, so I still have the impression that the players from back then were the best ever. Some players from the 21st century were superior to those late 20th century stars, but to me, the latter are still the best.

First game I attended when I was barely 7 years old. McStay, Van Hooijdonk, Kahn, Scholl, Klinsmann and others were playing. Not bad for a first game!

On that note, this is the first game I remember going to:

It wasn't the first one I went to as I was 9 then and had been to a couple since the 1990-91 season, but it sticks in my mind because I remember my dad being buzzing on the walk home. Liverpool were a huge club at the time, but it kind of got forgotten over the next 10-15 years as Man Utd dominated.

You'll probably enjoy this one, seeing Souness getting a pasting.

I wish football was still as pure as this
