Portugal handicapped themselves by having him involved so much, he's not able to offer anything at this level. He shouldn't have even been at the world cup he's playing Saudi league.

Need to retire. Get your 1000 goals in the Saudi league then please let it go.
Do you think this isn't his plan?

Not sure, wouldn't be surprised if he goes after Euro 2028
As coach?

It all comes down to Messi, whether he stays with the NT or calls it quits. He's getting close to breaking Ronaldo's all time goal record. Ronaldo wants keep his international goal record but Messi has a chance to surpass it

Hard to dislike him, wish him the best. Shame his teammates were gutless
Hard to dislike, is this a joke?

He makes everything about himself to the detriment of his team.

He couldn't accept a bit part role he had to start every game and play almost every single minute.

His contribution this world cup was 2 goals against Uzbekistan in a 5-0 rout and a penalty.

Great player, however his ego has contributed to the downfall of Portugal in the last few tournaments where he shouldn't have been the main player.

He just said before Ronaldo Portugal had 0 titles and then I won 3 titles for Portugal.

He did all by himself as you can see.

If he accepted a substitute role this tournament I would find it hard to criticise him because at least he would know his contribution would be limited on the pitch and could contribute in other ways behind the scenes and coming on when Portugal needed a goal and more attackers in the box.

Nah, their coach was/is the biggest gutless piece of shit who was too scared to make the big calls when it matters.

Ronaldo needs to retire because if he continues on till the Euros, they'll waste another cycle winning nothing with him.

Likes of Vitinha and Neves deserve better than this. They have a well rounded team now. The NT should be less about one man and his records and more about how they can compete for big trophies going forward.

He should have taken a substitute role and both Portugal and himself would be better off.

At the same time to win a World Cup you need lions. You think Lamine Yamal would allow himself to be benched for Ronaldo? The Portugal squad lacks mentality, just like they usually do. A shame for all the talent they have.

Messi walks the entire game in the MLS, outside of the times he gets the ball and is attacking.

He may be able to put together a solid tournament for Argentina, but in general, he just gives as little effort as possible

Both guys are doing the same thing at this point in their careers.
Football is new to you, isn't it?

Messi walked when he was 23.

If I am Portugal coach I will put Ramos instead of Chico

Put 3 of Leao CR7 and Ramos narrow in the box and launch that crosses. One will go in

CR7 play, Portugal win

And btw no one sued PSG when they can sell a bench player almost 50m above his market value in transfermarkt.com

But we are getting scrutiny based on transfermarkt
