I will remember his signing more for the shock value and all the hype and euphoria it generated and less for the performances on the pitch. The day his signing was announced was a truly memorable day.

Screw Penaldo, glorified poacher. Messi clears him in every possible way. I think it's safe to say in the later phase of his career and three world cups in a row (since wc Brazil) Messi has shown leadership, clutch moments and most importantly know how to carry a team. Cristiana actually slows his NT down and morale is as low as it could get with him.
