He was amongst the best on the pitch yesterday, i think this type of weak opponents that sit back and rarely press effectively favors him as he gets more time on the ball so let’s see how he fares when the going gets tougher as well, but for now i’d say he definitely brings that bit extra calm and creativity on the ball, as well as taking over most set pieces which is a plus.

Good point, maybe if the other midfielders or wingers made the right runs more often he’d have picked them up, because he definitely picked more than a few good ones yesterday and been spreading the play effectively outside of a couple instances as you said where he played it a bit slow and too safe, likely due to a lack of viable forward options or maybe even due to instructions coming from the sidelines asking him to calm the tempo.

if you rate him on a neutral soccer perspective (completely neutral beyond the player / no sympathy or antipathy):
as you mentioned, the fast vertical pass can only be played, when the specific run is made, or atleast when there is an attempt to run the line. We wonder why we play mostly back to the defenders or sideways, but its lack of attacking movement from our team. Thats why, in my case, i see players like Cambiaso very useful, because he is very good in opening channels/ space and making good movements to disorder the opponent. Of course he makes a lot of errors, but thats because its not a natural thing for him to defend as we do.
Dusan started late to make these runs, but was slow. Chico beside dribbling doesnt see a channel/ does not understand the right movement, thats why i say to sell him cause he is very limited.
Yildiz is still raw, but he is wasted a bit in that wing and to stay there, he needs much more speed.
KM should be the one opening the spaces for those passes, thats why he still played yesterday til the 90 minute because when we got pressed, we hit the ball wide and far to him, but he lacks this physical power to hold up than. Thats why Spalletti asks for a physical striker.
Weston is the best player we have when its about finding spaces and channels, but he is very limited technically and no threat outside the box.
Thats why a Douglas Luiz seems to be very slow on his play, but if you understand the complete picture of the team, its more a sign that there is a lack of skills in terms when it comes to OFF THE BALL skills. Mostly the wingers have to make these runs, Chico doesnt know how to do it, Yildiz is imo not a winger and wasted there. KM is still not in form, and Wes is very limited. Thats why our midfielders actually always seem to be horrible, but its more a lack of option and movement. The irony here is that Koop has very good movement skills, but he somehow completely forgot to play soccer when he has the ball.
Synergy lacks here thats why we will fail and fail again. The playery may be good in some other concepts, but we completely lack a concept at all.

He has to develope a lot in decision making
and reading the defensive phase.

about him its just the moment that when once the team starts to click, than he can become a huge part of the team and a huge player. He needs those circumstances to function.

Our problem is, that we dont play clean and polite soccer because of our lacking quality and synergy. We play raw, physical, wasteful with energy and wasteful with quality options. We run a lot useless meters, find ourselves in troubles vs minor teams cause of lack of concentration. We love to dive, to tackle.
Thats why here ppl love Chico or Wes, because we also somehow became popular with this kind of soccer, where we dont rate quality anymore, but a player who runs, dives and eats the grass all the time. It has become our integral style of play right now
