At 3 million / season hopefully. He's a lost cause; at least as our reference #9.
To me, it doesn't make sense to keep him at such a reduced salary. Imagine you being told at your job that from now on you work for 1/3 of your salary because your performance has been below expectations. What kind of motivation would you have? Obviously what I mean is we should part ways, not give him another fat contract.

Well, if you don't have better offers that wouldn't matter much imo as he should be concerned with rebuilding his name.
And if we're making him a sub, he's supposed to only perform only 1/3 of the time too. Obviously everyone involved knows the 12m was grossly misplaced and he'd be better off showing what he's worth next season or his career is finished anyway. Money should not be his motivation now....

Literally every other day we see conflicting rumors saying we either moved on already or are actually getting closer to renewing him… i think it’s safe to say none of this journos know anything for sure and are just putting out there all potential scenarios in the hope that one sticks.

Same mistake again, we’re stuck in a cycle of repeating the same mistakes. They’re going to extend his contract again to not losing him for free, but he’ll end up out of the squad because of injuries, and no club is willing to match the salary he’s asking for.

I think we are not yet that set on renewing him, or at least surely not at similar figures to what he was previously earning.

By the looks of it we are working on every possible way to lowball him and only renew him within the current wage structure which overall wouldn’t be that poor of a move as a lower salary means he won’t be as hard to sell later on… but doubt he’ll ever accept such conditions atm so i actually think both parties are instead just looking at alternatives and much will depend on who(if anyone) we will be able to secure early on in this mercatto as well as what other offers Vlahovic himself has on the table.

Let him go for free. He’s had enough time to prove himself. It’s not worth giving him more time and wasting more money on him. We clearly have better options out there to replace him, on the same salary or even less.

Can’t say i disagree with this notion tbh, just hope we have better alternatives lined up if it does get to it.

There's no way at 5-6m wages and zero transfer fee (so a 9-11m book value) do you let him walk. You will not find an okay striker out there at that price, muchless if Vlahovic can be 80% of what he was his first few season and replicate that under Spaletti. Also, extending him gives us the option to move on from him if we need to, even for a nominal fee, and it be net neutral at worst.

9-11m book value on a top 4 club in Italy should be the backup striker.

If he is healthy and deliver regularly, but he has been out of squad almost for most of games. His contribution in this season has been very poor. given the salary he is receiving, he is a burden on the team.

There should be a new pole in this thread.

Would you renew him for 5/6m a year, yes or no. Would be interesting to see the results.
I know there are many here that would just prefer to move on already but if it does come to those type of figures i think we’d be better off renewing him for now and looking at it more as an investment that could potentially generate us some plusvalenza in the foreseeable future… although the bigger factor here is whether the player himself is willing to take such a major paycut and stay put because i’d assume at those figures there’s plenty of other teams that can afford it, more so with him as a free agent.

I would actually be interested in seeing the results.
Anyway I wouldnt renew him for anywhere above 3M - He is injured all the time and he isnt really Van Basten..
The thing is we wont even negotiate this low, better to tell him he isnt needed anymore and be done with it.

I would be very happy if he never kicked a ball for this club ever again.
I wouldnt be surprised to see us doing the stupid thing and extend his contract, in that event you still get your wish as he is injured all the time anyway..

Did well for the goal.

But there were several excellent crosses not long after that a decent striker should be getting near and he was miles off them. His movement needs to improve, hopefully it will as he gets sharper because he is out best option for the rest of the season.

Yup it was a great goal, and at a crucial time i may add, but everything else he did only served as a reminder as to why so many here are completely fed up with him.
