Been looking at Anno 117 recently. Anyone here played it or any of the other games in the series? I like city building games, the era is appealing to me, but this one has kind of mixed reviews.
Anno fan here. I've played 1404, 1800, 2070 and 2205. With 1800 + 2205 more than 200hrs on record. Honestly 2205 is my fav, even though it gets a lot of hate in the Anno community. Ppl describe it as a good game but a bad Anno and yeah it is different which is probably why i like it so much. It was my first Anno and I got used to being able to check supply chains super precisely and see in real time exactly what resources Im missing down to the unit.

In the ther Anno games you dont get that. You either do trial and error or you use external calculators which is quite annoying. optimalization of trade routes is pain in the ass but can be very satisfying.

Haven't played 117 yet and probably wont any time soon. I have a rule - I dont buy games over ~30USD. Plus my backlog is absolutely unhinged. xd

But if you like the genre, I'd 100% recommend 2205 and 1800. 2070 didn't really liked, 1404 was fine but nothing special IMO.

Also i had a blast with SteamWorld Build - kinda like Anno mixed with Dungeon Keeper/Dungeons but way less complex and very chill to play.

Anyone played Where winds meet ? (open world RPG set in China) its free to download and play and looks fun but despite positive reviews on steam there's so many mixed reviews online, anyone got any thoughts on it?
I played it for a few hours. It looks good for a free game but I felt like playing a slot machine. The UI is so busy there’s always something popping up on the screen. Not for me. Performance is kinda bad on ps5 too.

How's the general game play otherwise? Im kinda drawn to the looks and the fact its not a pay to win sort of game, so in game cosmetics really dont bother me.

The combat is nice. It’s got a 2 way to parry system and it’s complex enough. It’s on par with modern games. There also seems to be a lot of value in terms of looting. I mean it’s a free game it’s worth at least a try.

Anyone playing BF6? I put in a few hours the past weeks but what a waste of money. EA must have put out a lot of money on Youtubers because all reviews I found (at the time) was very positive on BF6. I don't normally watch Youtubers because they are all sellouts that I don't trust but for the first time I actually trusted them. Lesson learned, they are always sell outs. If you like COD but would like a different spin on COD, get BF6. If you like the old BF games, avoid BF6 at all costs. This is garbage.

I was thinking about it, because I do miss having some game like that to casually play. But then I remember the freezing I would experience on single player career mode in FIFA 22 and thought it's not worth it to try.

It was like this, shit is a joke.
Its not a bug its a feature. it gives you time to think your next move lol.

Anyway I bought FC26 on Steam today. plays really nice, no performance issues whatsoever but apparently the career mode is shit. I tried to mod it with KIARIKA Career Mode Overhaul but new FIFA Mod Manager 2.0.3 triggers my Windows Defender when launching the game. Probably false positive but I decided its not worth the risk. I think I'm gonna return it while I still can.

Tsushima is a masterpiece.

Yotei is very good.

Jin Sakai has a better character arc.

Atsu’s character arc is pretty flat.

Yea the snow is more interactive, arrows don’t disappear after sticking em in tree, and brush stays burned when you use fire. However it has been (5) years and developed for newest gen gaming platform, it should have some improvements in that aspect.
