Former Juventus Star Tests Positive For Cocaine
Former Juventus defender Mark Iuliano has tested positive for cocaine after taking an anti doping test last month.
The former Italian international is currently playing for Ravenna in Italy’s Serie B and the Coni (Italian Olympic Committee) have announced that the player has tested positive for the illegal substance, cocaine.
A statement reads:
“The anti-doping office of the Coni, upon the indication of the Medical Sports Federation of Italy has informed the football authorities of a positive result.
“The laboratory in Rome has revealed that the first athlete who underwent a test, Marc Iuliano, showed traces of Cocaine following the game between Ravenna and Cesena in Serie B.”
This latest revelation is set to shock the football world as Iuliano was always considered as the model professional during his nine year spell at the Old Lady.
Iuliano won several major honours with the Bianconeri and he was one of their best players when they dominated world football during the mid-late 1990’s.
The stopper is likely to be banned from the game and this could signal the end of his career as a player.
