Tudor needs a replacement. I think adjustments would help keep the ship floating. We could, for example, put Mario as RWB but he looks bang average so it might improve us slightly but not much. Overall we need to run more. In possession in the back one of our CMs will drop to help circle the ball sideways. The other CM will run far wide or into a SS position. We stretch the team but have no opportunities to really build from the midfield. Tudor is a risk-averse person who wants to attack direct, I don't think he is capable to build such momentum. He could drop a CB and put in another CM, which would also help because a lot of our cutting through passes, the way we set up our attacks, is expected to happen from a CB. You need a Bonucci-type then, and we don't have that. Another CM would be better, but the only one with that ability is Thuram and I don't want him in that role.
Conclusion: We can change things around, and we would improve slightly. But firing Tudor will not resolve our problems in midfield. We need a more creative CM. We can chase one down in January but we all know that he will be our Alibaba-solution, I'd rather wait for the summer and hope we can reach an EL spot at least.
Final conclusion: It's a disgrace that we have changed management after management, coach after coach, but we continue to avoid resolving our midfield issues.
