Yeah tbh i doubt we’re really serious on OL, sounds like too ambitious(and burdening cost wise) of a project to take on, however a smaller Ligue 1 club could be much more feasible and can still provide a platform for a wider audience and could make for decent revenues, or even a mid table belgian club could also turn out to be a profitable low risk investment, either way i expect something of that sorts if it does materialize.

Tbf after doing a bit more research online in the last few mins it seems to me like the rumors about Elkann seriously planning to buy another football club such as OL/Botafogo or at least a smaller satellite club of any sorts are rather slim atm… and if there is anything to all this it’s probably barely at an incipient phase of only asking for info or even just being j linked to them in papers to raise the price for others.

Perhaps in the foreseeable future there will be some palpable movement on that front as there are some signs of intent in expanding their sports portfolio but certainly not just yet it seems.

Appoints a guy who hasn't really had success outside of mid table teams, and then is surprised that they aren't up to the task.
Gone are the days where we could just appoint the best people, sign the best players, coaches, etc. Even then we got it wrong at times. But now we need to be smart and work well, and are failing at it.

How is it when we were first linked with Comolli I was amongst the very few if any that pointed out his flaws at 'big clubs' namely his time at Liverpool I stated he was a disaster, signed Suarez but the rest were awful. Obviously those familiar with Turkish football know of his time at Fenerbahce and what a disaster he was there.
How is it that these were not red flags to Elkann? Don't tell me he based his appointment on his work solely at Toulouse?
And what justifications were there to make Comolli CEO within a year?

I don't think Elkann has given a damn about reviewing Comolli's resume. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Platini who suggested hiring Comolli. The fact that he failed at Fener doesn't really surprise me as Turkey is a completely exotic place for a Frenchman. What's more, looking how these clubs suddenly found a goldmine it suggests some shady doings.
You guys keep comparing John to Gianni but these are two completely different eras. L'Avvocato main focus was Italy and FIAT while Elkann runs a global fund which is much bigger and more powerful globally.
On a side note, I have recently read a book about Agnelli family and found an interesting thing there. You probably are familiar with the conflict of Margherita de Pahlen (mother to Elkann, and Gianni's daughter) and the rest of the family. What I read is that Antonio Giraudo, member of the famous Triade with Moggi and Bettega, actually persuaded her to reject previous agreements regarding the inheritance from Gianni and start a new trial against John and Gianni's accountants and lawyers who represented his will after his death (for example Grande Stevens, ex Juve president).
That throws some light on why Elkann didn't support the Triade in their trial.

Another full reset is needed i guess, still way too much incompetence in key positions at the club, over many years now we’ve again managed to build one of the worst and most overpaid squads ever assembled with zero real leaders and a plethora of underperforming players that’d been getting pay rises and contract renewals for doing the bare minimum required, while simultaneously missing out on the most minimal of objectives…
