As I wrote many times, he inherited FIAT in a dramatic condition. What he managed to do and Gianni never wanted to was becoming more international. Italy's economy has stagnated since 90' and so would Agnelli's patrimony if it wasn't for John. Obviously Sergio Marchionne was also instrumental during that period but it doesn't take back from Elkann.

Ferrari is obviously influenced by the EV revolution but it might be temporary. The company IPO was 50$ per share in 2015 to reach 500$ late 2025.
Bro i can’t and won’t judge him based on what he did with the car manufacturer Fiat/ Ferrari or the other businesses - never checked or cared about this.

But what he did to Juve or F1 Ferrari is beyond pathetic. He’s not able to hire the right people for over a decade at Ferrari or Juve for the last 5-6 years. I don’t expect him to be president of Juve or whatever but hiring Comolli or all the other trash the last years is just sad. How can someone running a multi billion dollar enterprise be this stupid

The point is that those are literally his goals and you should judge him on it when making remarks about his intellect.

He hired a freaking headhunter firm to hire Comolli so he didn't even do it himself... He either gets he's not enough of a football minded guy or he's just not that interested like Agnelli...

I would rather say there are a few more capable people in car industry that have everything in charge. He is there just because he is the owner and probably is not included in any ambitious project. People there are not stupid, they know he is useless.

On the other hand ferari and juve....

John Elkann decided to change the club's leadership once he was certain he had secured the availability of who he had always considered the best solution and his first choice: Giovanni Carnevali. Given the close ties binding the experienced executive to Sassuolo, it took time to inform the Neroverde ownership of his decision to leave after 12 years of excellent work, also ensuring he would complete the process of bringing new manager Alberto Aquilani from Catanzaro. Carnevali will now be able to formalise his move to Juventus as the new CEO, chosen by the Bianconeri ownership as a key piece in relaunching the club's ambitions.

Acting now with the season finishing weeks ago is another big mistake in my book...
Better later than never i guess, at least it’s still in a relatively good timeframe to make amends and reorganize before the new season starts, however the delay on Spalletti is what will prove to be an even bigger mistake that could eventually cost us another failed transition year.
