I actually believe in that type of schedule. I know I know...it's my Football Manager gaming format when taking on any team.

Phase 1 of pre-season: Play a village team or two.

Phase 2 : Play a Serie C team or two, or some 2nd division Swiss/Austrian side.

Phase 3 : proper tour, play random top division sides in EU. Since it's Europa league. I dunno test yourself vs. someone like Sevilla. OGC Nice. Eintracht Frankfurt.

Phase 4 : Marquee friendly vs. Barcelona. If there's room for one more, I dunno go for Ajax, Chelsea.

That's how I'd do it, if I were in charge. No need for these Australia or North America tours.
