my brother is a lifelong barca fan (since '00 iirc). he's been spending a lot of time at my place lately and we watched a lot of barca games. obviously yamal is incredible, he's one of the few players worth watching nowadays. he's top3 even for me alongside kenan and olise. but highlights won't give you the whole story. his form is fluctuating, he's got a nonchalant attitude, sometimes he is just a passenger. still makes it to the highlights, but many times he just doesn't care. mentality wise he's way off the mark when it comes to comparisons with messi. probably the best current player ability wise, he needs to grow a lot as a person to become an all-time great

tl;dr: genius but lazy at times
Thanks for the analysis, much appreciated.

It scares me the amount of minutes that his young body is logging already. I really hope he doesn't suffer an injury or mental burnout.

Messi was also surrounded by legends, whereas Yamal at only 18 years old is basically tasked with being the lynchpin of this Barca squad. The weight of expectation is on a completely different level.

Lamine Yamal has been ruled out for the rest of the season with Barcelona due to a torn hamstring but should be fine for the World Cup, according to Barcelona.

Barça have subsequently confirmed that he will undergo a "conservative treatment plan," avoiding surgery, and will not feature in the club's final six games of the campaign.

That Mbappe signing really fucked them over. IndividuPlayer over the system wont work even at Madrid.

The only way it'll work is if they go back to the old Galacticos way. But modern players are different, they all think they are special and important. Before you had players from the system or those who understood they were role players to compliment, now all these guys think they are starters (and many would be for other teams).

If it was me I'd bomb out the likes of Chewonmyknee, get the right sort of personalities in that prop up the egos.

Really cannot underestimate how important Ancelotti was in keeping those egos in check, no wonder Perez is wanting a more authoritative figure in charge like Mourinho and Allegri.
Lol Allegro is no authoritative figure. Mbappe would whoop his ass and send him back to Livorno in no time. His reign would be similar to Benitez plus this guy has never stepped out of Italy. Huge red flag if you're Real Madrid.

Mourinho is considered only because of his time at Madrid. Otherwise I dont think they would bother tbh.
