I’m one of the last people you’ll see praising Spalletti for anything this days but credit where it’s due in regards to the reintegration of Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez, although forced by circumstances to count on them again it so far looks like it was the right call when considering we don’t have that many better players than them in the current squad… just deciding to test them out himself before dumping them on another loan(while keeping other worst jabronis around) is already worth a bit of a shout.

Those are fair points too but the main take here is that with those two we definitely aren’t any worse than we already were, quite the opposite in fact so i’d say he at least done a good job in identifying this much and figuring out this management won’t find us or afford anyone better anyway.

Although must add that this screams also of bit desperation from Spalletti to justify his own undeserved high wages here after bottling it last season, now tries to show he can add value where it wasn’t through this kind of mini projects, tried it with Koop too multiple times since last season but not all of them pay off obviously.
