He is not the main problem obviously but neither is he the solution long term tbh, if anything our current position in the league along with the results over this last few months are evidence enough.

Also in the summer we certainly won’t be replacing jabronis with world class players in their prime all of a sudden, more so if we miss out on Top 4 it’s just as likely that he might end up working with an even weaker squad next season… frankly idk where all this blind trust comes from where many fans are ready to renew him no questions asked even if we finish 5th/6th this season, because the main argument i am reading is that it’s the player’s fault and he will have a big say in us strengthening the squad in the summer, but then i ask again how will we do that with no CL money and a bunch of overpaid mediocre players still tied to long term contracts here.

Yes this is a weak and unbalanced squad, but us potentially being broke in the summer due to missing out on the UCL money certainly won’t change much in that regard.
We should have clear project rather than keep changing the coach. I also like some of Spaletti work but he also have issue. His football is creating lot of chances and entertaining but it also quite difficult to get WIN even played against weaker opponents (Sass, Lecce, Lazio, Cagliari, Fiorentina). We can blame the player like Openda or David with lack of goal, but Como doing it with Douvikas and Morata as ST. Their previous performance is not as good as David and Openda whom are scored lots of goals in their previous clubs (Lille and RB Leipzig), but Cesc can make them scoring goals

I actually admire what Bayern did with Kompany. He was relegated with Burnley, recruited by Bayern. Sign key player for him especially Olise and they become winning machine. Same season when they signed Olise, Palhinha as their major signing, Giuntoli signed Luiz, Nico, Koop, Kalulu for us with almost same budget.

Can the mods please ban people who are mixing politics with sport here ?

I don’t want to scroll trough whole thread reading 15 pages of insults and see videos and pictures which don’t have a place on a football forum ?

Bro it was politics, among other things, that brought us to this doom.

La Stampa: Openda (for the third consecutive time) was given zero minutes, and remained with David on the sidelines. It's no coincidence that both remained talking during their prolonged warm-up, almost incredulous at finding themselves excluded and not even considered in an occasion that inevitably leaves a lasting impression. Just in case anyone still had any doubts : Openda and David (and also Zhegrova...) were rejected by Spalletti, along with their transfer strategies that at the time had already been more than accepted by Igor Tudor.

But these decisions, even more than others, seem to represent a clear statement of intent from Spalletti towards the club: to return to winning ways, they must not repeat the mistakes of the past, especially in the transfer market. Perhaps by focusing more on the pitch than the computer
And yet Cuntmolli is getting away with it.

Spaletti is an experienced coach. He wants experienced players. It could be good for short term, but i hope we able to mix it like Bayern because Bayern and Real Madrid success transfer not always a proven player one. Both of them dominated their league bought talented young players and mix it with their experienced players
Real Madrid buy players like Carreras, Huijsen, Mastantuono, Guler. They had Valverde, Vinicius bought them so young.
Bayern buy are Olise, Bischoff and mix it with proven players Diaz

how motivated kessié could be? pass for me

experienced players, especially goalie are fine by me, signing washed up players only playing for a last fat paycheck is a mistake too easy to commit though

Im afraid Rudiger will not be protected by the refs as he is in Real Madrid. And he might be a walking red card for us in this corrupted league.
Still more solid than Kelly and Gatti though..

Id skip on Kessie too.
He is sitting on Thuram's spot so unless we sell Thuram, we should stay away.

pls not again a transfer of a 33y old guy, who probably will be more in Juve Medical than starting. Get Muharemovic back and develope him more behind Bremer and co. Senesi can be added if Kelly has transfer.
Getting Rudiger or Kessie is permanent Circulus vitiosus of errors.

Well just an opinion but should Spalletti fail to take us to CL - Should we really renew his contract?
I mean there are signs of game play but there is also the results factor and on paper we should beat Como and Roma to 4th place.
I mean I understand being behind Inter Napoli and Milan since they are considered to be either wealthy or strong.
Como are in their first or second season in Serie A - Ending behind them is quite unacceptable.
We currently have 3pts deficit but its actually 4pts since Como beat us twice this year.

8 games left are a lot but lets face it the team isnt stable enough to get 7 or 8 wins out of 8.
Como will drop points but it wouldnt matter since we drop them too.

On the other hand what are the available options?

Yes we should. Fabregas finished 10th last season. Would you have sacked him? Also, Como have the richest owners in Serie A and have spent a ton of money in the last couple of years- they aren’t your regular Serie B upstarts.
Spalletti came in midseason with the team in horrible condition and in truly terrible form. Give the man a decent striker and a proper preseason. If things don’t improve next year, we can think about making a change.

If things dont turn good next year the decision is easy. Its only up to debate since he came mid-season.

We should still be finishing above them (and other teams), but I don't get the love in with them. It's not exactly a Chievo Verona story. But it is good for the league having new good teams.
