Letting Marotta go and hiring Allegri again were the biggest mistakes this club has done in the past 10 years. But hey let's keep him for another two years, what could go wrong.
This isn’t at all surprising. Of course good young players don’t want to play for such an old geezer. It’s not hard to predict, unless you’re part of the “family” of course.

Ronaldo this, Marotta that but what about the fact we NEVER fixed our midfield issues?
But that was exactly why Marotta and Juve parted ways. He wanted to rejuvenate the squad and fix the midfield. Agnelli and Tootsie thought we could win CL by just adding Ronaldo to the aging team we had.

Go look at the midfield Beppe created at Inter. Immediately went and signed the best young Italian mid, Barella. Kid has turned into a cunt at Inter, but he would have a perfect signing in 2019.

Damned if we do, damed if we dont. Take a hit upfront by sacking him or keep him and we dont succeed moving forward and lose money in the future. I wonder how much the point deduction saga gives him in terms of leverage when negotiating leaving the club.

Can the agnelli family, worth billions, not put their hand in their pockets to pay him out? Own your mistakes, take responsibility, fix it FFS.

It's a shame that cross eyed troll didn't stay, at least the figc would ban his ugly mug.

Yes we were going to keep winning with the likes of Rincon, Hernanes and tied up to getting rid of big contract earners like Higuain, Khedira and Matuidi for free.... get real.

Add to the fact that he was leaking insider news to the media which is one of the reasons why he was let go. Stupid troll couldn't keep his mouth shut
You believe Marotta wasn't a good sporting director?

In Dutch we have an expression: 'To deny the light of the Sun.'

I'm sure you can figure out what it means.

Marotta was great at building us up but his public open door policy cemented us as a feeder club to the elites. He struck gold with the initial rebuild then kept chasing that bargain/freebie high but it was a once in a generation couple of transfer windows tbh.

Even with his flaws he's still miles ahead of the dickheads that followed though.

Aside from the fact he did it in again with building the 16-17 through 17-18 team. Two 90+ pt domestic doubles with a CL final and an extra time QF loss to the winners in ‘18. And now he’s done it again at Inter. Scudetto and now a CL finalist.

It can't be luck. He did it again at Inter with same and different coaches. He probably has the best record of all DOFs who operate on a tight/broke budget (to exclude Perez and whoever is in charge of City for ex). 2 cycles with Juve and 1 cycle with Inter. The ratio of spend to trophies is out of this world and in both instances he took over teams that havent competed for anything in ages.

Has flaws as all DOFs would. No DOF gets everything right but I genuinely cant point to a single DOF that has done better in all the top leagues.

calma, he's just joking. i for one giggled a bit

anyway, i also don't think that contract will ultimately save allegri. he had the same contract a few years ago too, and his results were much better in '19

exor has money, they'll find a way if there's the will
And I did not. It's fine to comment on the news itself but you don't shoot the messenger IMO. Fine by me, I don't have to share my lurking findings.

I also don't think the contract saves him. What most don't realize is that Allegri's contract is already budgeted, JJ have to pay him either way. Sack or no sack changes nothing, that cost is already planned.
The point is whether JJ will be able to afford the new coach and his coaching staff. Surely the club needs to give some guarantees when it comes to mercato as well, no matter who comes. In a such a tight budget this is not so clear. However, I can easily see Giuntoli suggesting someone else for the bench (Agresti reported this as well) if he thinks that someone else can squeeze more out of these players. Also, there are a lot of redundant players so this should allow to both lower the salaries and do some changes in the squad.

We also have to remember that a lot of journalists mention Allegri's backing from Elkann but in the end it's him who put the new board together with Calvo at the top of the club hierarchy. Most probably it was also JE who wanted Giuntoli as well. Then, consider the results which were totally shit and the fact at least half of the locker room is against him.
With these circumstances the future doesn't look too bright for Allegri. Here's hoping Elkann will find a way to part ways in peace or that some other club comes calling and Max picks up the phone. There will be a lot of free benches this Summer, starting with PSG, ending up with Napoli, Roma and probably even Milan.

I was referring more to the Barzagli, Vidal, Pirlo, Lichtsteiner, Pogba era where we got 5 top players for something like 25M euros. We struck gold

But yes he clearly knows how to build a competitive team without breaking the bank. But those couple of windows were a one off.

Afterwards we had a neverending wave of similar 'bargain' players especially midfielders who turned out to be dead weight.

Yeah, I definitely agree that he had his flaws, and our let players go the moment they ask policy was frustrating at times. But he was/is a top 5 or so sporting director out there imo. Builds winners, and manages to have teams be successful in CL while on much tighter budgets than his CL competitors. His CV is very impressive. He also did manage to bring in Pjanic and Khedira who were very good for us in the midfield. So he wasn’t the total disaster there that Tootsie was.

I think for me, it’s another case of don’t fucking fire one of the best in the business unless you have someone at least on his level lined up as the replacement. We’re still a mess now because we didn’t replace him properly.

Put it this way, despite his Inter stint I'd take him back especially since operation "make Juve a superstar brand" failed spectacularly and died with the super league.

We don't need a megastar closer, that ship has sailed. We need to find the best hidden gems domestically before some cunt in the PL does and triples the asking price.
