Obviously he's not an extraordinary player, otherwise he would have signed with an EPL club with much higher salary and sign on bonus.

He's been starting majority of Roma's games though and he's versatile, he can play RB, RWB and RCB so we can use him as Kalulu back up or start him at RCB.

To sum up, we get a player for free with a vast Serie A experience. Plus, he's coming from Roma, not Cremona so it's a plus as well.

Indeed, this one should be the least of our worries, good depth option to sign as a free agent, on the other hand some of those Pellegrino and co rumors at those numbers is where we should keep our meltdown energy for in case they do come to fruition.

I don't think people have grasped the actual problem. All these years, we are wasting our budget and salary cap on crappy players that cannot be difference makers, that cannot be even starters.
This strategy limits our abilities to improve our team and this year we got officially penalized for that, we are bunkrupt and forced to sell starters before buying anything.
All available resources should be put to less in number, but crucial signings. No more back ups. We have loads of cack players that we are paying anyway.
Unless we find someone who is dirty cheap, a vfm. If that would be the case, ok.
But the amount of salary we have committed at this particular moment, shows that absolutely nothing have changed, we are keep repeating the same mistake and keep downgrading our team.
Its absurd to buy him as a Kalulu or Cabal back up and give double salary, as absurd at it was to make Gatti one of our highest earners.
Of Celik fails like Gatti, we are stuck with him, noone would ever pay such salary for such a player, just like we are stuck with all that garbage for years

Sadly, we'll be playing Europa League next season so we need players to field. Top players won't come to play Thursday night and Serie A.

Hehe, nah, Gatti is shaky as fuck defensively. Celik didn't look like that at all yesterday. Granted, it's only Standard...

I'd say Celik is an upgrade as a backup. Actually we basically had no one on the right... Then Holm, for about 3 fit games.

PS: Gatti is probably a better attacker than defender :p so I wouldn't compare them, like at all.
