I was really worried about the RB position as we don't really have a fantastic primary option there, but honestly now with Danilo, Kalulu, Savona and Cambiaso all potentially playing there with Motta hybrid position tactics, it's actually looking like a relatively strong position.

Mature performance, but so far he provides the attacking contribution of Barzagli at RB. Playing him and Cabal means minimal threat from the full backs. Compare that to prime Licht and Sandro, Dani Alves, Cuadrado etc...

No need for attacking fullbacks that can break the press when you got CB’s (plus Locatelli) tasked with carrying the ball forward and breaking the lines lol

Those players listed had attacking roles largely because they were the wide player, but Savona and Cabal have authentic wingers in front of them.

We could ultimately end up with Cambiaso as a fullback instead but I think he's a little bit wasted there and wants to be on the ball.

What do you mean we could? Where else is Cambiaso going to start if not at LB and RB, that’s his spot even if Motta’s instructions have him cutting inside almost as another CM when played there.

Even last night we seemed to have tried at times using both Savona and Cabal as actual fullbacks, with fullback tasks, whenever Cabal was going up then Savona stayed back and the other way around, they are more defensive yes but wouldn’t call any of them ideal to what we want to play.

Not quite the case with Cambiasso and Mbangula (winger but still untested) in front of you. With Yildiz on the left and Conceição or Gonzalez on the right, there is clearly space for at least one overlapping full back able to beat pressure or hit a decent cross. We currently play with two Zebinas and no Zambrotta.

I’m sure Cambiaso will be rotated as the starting LB and also starting RB depending on availability and type of opponents, so basically we should ultimately have at least one proper quality fullback starting at all times.

I don’t get the hype in Savona at all. All I see is a player that will probably end up in Empoli in a couple of years, not a starter for a club like Juve.

He is big, quite fast and responsible in defence at that age. He could make a great CB. Ofc he is not the most exciting young player, but I can see him fully filling the real destiny of Fredrik Sorensen - monster CB trained directly by Juve.

Italy football is in a crisis of producing talent and promising players and is collapsing a slow death lately, any player who appears in an average quality in few games get hyped instantly. But Savona at 21 years showing great skill and pure talent and it's not just the age. it's his strong mentality and high confidence. He is a real talent in my book.

Think he should be converted to a CB. He doesn't provide much attacking threat but seems defensively solid.

I don't think anyone is hyping him or should be, nobody's barely heard of him a few months ago. We are just hopeful and optimistic he turns out well and trust that Motta had seen a lot of good in him. Based on the first few matches, he may be right.
