I never ever thought I'd be saying this. Not since his disastrous 2003 season, namely his "gifts" to Inter at the Delle Alpi. His loan spell at Siena where it looked like his Juve days were over. Not when he got injured vs. Napoli in Serie B (and he had a good game at San Paolo!).
Seriously, respect to this player who really showed character and responsibility. He's no Maldini or Nesta, but he's a hard working defender who has earned his regular place at Juve and soon the National Team, now at 31 years of age. Has a good sense of leadership along with Chiellini.

Pessimistically (realistically), I'm not expecting this form to remain...by 33-34 he might become slow. This is a short-term solution before Juve plan a mega defender purchase in the following season.
