this is modern football with ffp: while random pl clubs get to spend hundreds of millions on nobodies, betis, a cl team next season, had to sell their best academy player for like 5m on deadline day to comply with spanish ffp. both the player and his mother were in tears when they left

Not that I disagree with the gist of your post, but the highlighted point just means that a club isn't ran the way it should be. Something that we, as JJ fans, are pretty familiar with.

They didn't have to sell him to comply, they chose to sell him because they preferred to allocate their budget differently. For better or for worse.

yes, that's a management issue too, but also stupid rules in spain. they bought dani ceballos, and spanish clubs have some kind of salary cap and squad size limit that they apparently couldn't comply with without a last minute sale

at least in italy you can register as many u21 players for the league as you want
