Odd choice leaving him out when in this kind of form, especially as he is versatile and can cover efficiently not only as a RB/RWB but also as CB too, and with Deschamps being ‘uno di noi’ we’d all probably expected him to pick Kalulu.
Though if we evaluate from a more neutral perspective i’m sure Deschamps wouldn’t have left him out unless he had valid reasons, with probably the main one being the fact Kalulu hasn’t been a regular for France at all throughout this qualifiers and has fierce competition on his position, along with having not trained him that often to really trust him more than others.
Im just saying it’s almost revolting when looking at it only from a Juve recency point of view where he had a great half year at club level, but at the same time this is in a club side playing in a declining league that hasn’t really challenged this season for anything major and suffered multiple humiliations with him on the pitch too, maybe it’s slightly biased of us to automatically expect him to be picked now just because he’s been a standout among a poor bunch here through his form/consistency recently and newfound crossing prowess… otherwise no doubt he is first pick in case of a defensive spot opening up(via potential injuries) and i do still hope he somehow eventually makes it there, primarily for his morale and all the experience he could gain from it, but i assume his current exclusion it’s not as much revolting to most French NT fans as it is surprising to us considering Deschamps affinity with Juve and Kalulu’s recent form.

Also, is this i believe the first major tournament under Deschamps tenure where they have no Juve player featuring?
