Seems like Arsenal are the Celtic of the PL.

here we go
everything is just falling into place for them

pure disgrace that other teams in the league let arsenal win a title

it was all downhill after @Fr3sh used this avatar

a half decent consolidation would be p$g annihilating them in the final

why do you think Pep is really leaving this summer? decision must be imminent.
Its possible. Maresca to me is not high profile enough at all tbh for a club like City now.

Winning Club World Cup means nothing to me. Di Matteo won CL with Chelsea. Then did nothing anywhere rest of his career and retired from management.

He has championship experience though.

Also if Maresca is so fkn good why are we not all over him? Ex player and italian. He wouldnt be that hard to get salary wise. If he is so fkn good why didnt we even consider him over all those random names we have listed last 3-4 years?

Having said that, i think coaching a team rest of life time like Ferguson and Wenger are over. Im surprised (time flies) Guardiola ended up 10 years at City. He didnt do that any other club and he is Barca born and bred.

I dont really know what to make of Maresca tbh, I think chelsea is a poison challice and a toxic environment no matter whos in charge right now, and i think Xabi is about to learn that the hard way, at the same time Maresca was often criticised by fans at Leicester for their somewhat sterile style of play, but I think that came out more as hate for his desire to leave Leicester to join Chelsea.

I think Man City are trying to give some continuity to Pep's work, for a few years now it was even touted that Vieira would be a candidate before showing obvious shortfalls at the likes of Genoa, and Kompany is at Bayern.
Who is really out there that would fit City?

I dont understand what Alonso is really doing. If you think about it. If he waited a bit longer, sooner or later Liverpool would replace Arne Slot. And i think long term it would be a better project for him. With Pool, unless he is a complete car crash they would give him more time and patience and backing. Like u said Chelsea are toxic. They are giving him a 4-5 year contract but i just dont see this lasting. At Pool i could see it lasting if he is given enough power and trust. Its obv Liverpool need a rebuild, Salah and VVD era is over. We can all debate if Alonso is the right man but in some sense he would be one of the ideal candidates for a new era. He either succeeds with a rebuild and patience + trust from board or it just proves that Leverkusen was a fluke.

Basically Alonso just went from Madrid toxic to Chelsea toxic.
