Lost count on the number of times Juventus has been mentioned since the scandal broke out.

City are going to take this until the very end regardless of what the punishment is going to be. This won't end.

Something we should've done for all the damages inflicted on us but we accepted the punishment like cucks because Azzurri at the WC was more important!
To this day, i get that famous gary nevile response from anyone here when i tell them i support Juve. I can see the disgust and comments like why them, didnt they get relegated for cheating, blah blah. Its never gonna end, of course i would have struggled back in 2006-2008. Now I dont care.

Now imagine you support City, not a plastic fan but someone before their peak, they have no idea whats coming their way, its probably worse than us because our league is irrelevant, we're just farmers or cheating farmers.

The club getting punished is one thing, fine, relegation, reputational damage etc and management move on but we fans dont, we carry the injustice. Something your average arsehole pundit fan would never know.

I expect some huge fines and maybe a small points deduction for either the current season or the next, with the harshest part being a potential transfer ban for a few windows… anything more and i’d be more than surprised, even shocked to a degree.
impossible it will be small. for a few reasons. one is the amount of charges they got. its a lot. second is the tried very hard and did a lot to delay the investigations. they will want to make example just for those alone otherwise teams like chelsea, new castle, aston villa and others will just do the same

other reason why the penalties wont be small is for what clubs like everton and notthingam got charged with. nottingham got hit with a 4 point deduction for going 34 million over their loss limit. everton got hit with 10 point reduced to 8 over two loss limit breaches of 19 million and 16 million. everton got hit with more points deductions due to also trying to drag investigations.

they will make example out of city for sure. i dont know about expulsion but i expect a relegation guaranteed point deduction level punishment at minimum. maybe even a secondary deduction of points for next season too.

I disagree, other clubs are furious with them and if Man City get off lightly the Premier League becomes an illegitimate competition in the eyes of everyone.

I would love for a situation where Inda claims the 2023 CL title, UEFA launches a counter-investigation and they get busted.

Wishful thinking but its a tragedy that this one team keeps getting away with crimes over and over again.

This is nothing different to what City have been doing.

I want to be as optimistic as y’all regarding what they will be penalized with but i think there are so many billions at stake in this one that i am almost convinced they will certainly still be in Premier League, albeit via a points deductions and a lengthy transfer ban very likely, whereas they definitely won’t be stripped of any previous trophies either tbf.

I’d imagine that for the overall Premier League image and the tight british-emirates relations it’d be better to work something out that minimizes the extent of all this rather than letting it slip out of proportions.

20 years later and Juve fans think Calciopoli came about due to match fixing? Maybe ask AI which games were fixed.
Thats the accusation and the lasting impression most football fans have, rightly or wrongly. Point is match fixing is more deligitimazing than financial maneuvers, which we all knew City was doing from day 1.

dude, calciopoli had nothing to do with match fixing. that's totonero when milan got relegated for literal match fixing. calciopoli basically was a communication related scandal: clubs had direct lines to the ref designators, which wasn't allowed.

before calciopoli, juve had the 3rd highest revenue of all clubs. the league wasn't in decline at all, it was peaking. milan won the cl in 2003 and in 2007 and juve probably had the strongest squad in the world before calciopoli struck

the current scandal in the pl means that some clubs can operate for more than a decade without respecting the regulations, while others get punished instantly. this current scandal already confirms double standards within the most wonderfulestest league ever. they basically let city do whatever. not to mention the real possibility of city walking away without a fucking severe, exemplary punishment that they'd clearly deserve.

incredible.
See above.

As for structural decline the same problems that plagued the league back then still plague it now but now worsened with the passage of time. Berlusconi and Moratti funded clubs with books in the red, all had to ultimately sell off their squads once FFP kicked in and that's after they won their CL titles at the so called peak. Old stadiums that aren't owned by the clubs, low matchday revenue. Dreadful infrastructure in an economy that was going broke. Meanwhile the EPL was on the rise and gaining momentum financially and commercially.

Calciopoli accelerated this decline it didn't create it

You dont care now but you will when City's owners do everything to drag this league in the mud and wish Juventus did the same thing back then.

The sanctions are going to be heavy one way or another and this is going to escalate big time. On both a football level and a geopolitical level.

Either way, England have ruined the sport and would be more than happy to see their league being de-legitimized and devalued. They'll still probably be the richest league but it won't be the same.

Its going to be a bloodbath

If City go away scott free, it damages the PL way more than if City actually get punished severely.

Even I was skeptical at first but with all that Im hearing and reading, City are not getting away unscathed from this.

I dont see a relegation but a massive points deduction that could potentially relegate them to the championship. Thats actually the bare minimum that I expect out of this.

Whats not helping this situation is the complete denial and arrogance of City's owners. This is the exact reason why things are going to get messy in the courtrooms.

Bingo.

Other Premier League clubs will point to the example of Calciopoli. What good does it do to penalize Man City, if the end result is less money for all English clubs?
