Not exactly sure if it was Barca who just backed out of wanting to sell due to nobody coming close to their asking price/demands or if it was also us who decided against wasting time negotiating till the last day to try make it an ‘option’ instead of an ‘obligation’ to buy, but i think it’s for the better, looking at it long term he might have turned out great for us but short term(and most important atm) this is the exact type of transfer we should avoid, even more so when besides being injury prone he would also be very expensive.

Wasted half of the transfer window on a player who everyone knew would never join us. Brilliant!
What does it even mean? Did Giuntoli spend those 15 days watching recordings of Araujo games 24h/7 or what? Probably player's agent spread some news that his client might be available and we have shown our interest since we are in a dire need for a defender and it's extremely rare that someone of Araujo's caliber is available in January.

Barcelona realized they might lose him and probably offered him a new improved contract. End of story.

You guys really could consider to calm down a bit with the critique. All your assumptions are based on journos reports who make a nice living of you becoming heated with every bs rumor they get out of their asses.

Personally, I think that ugly cunt just used us to get broke Barca to renew his contract.

Can’t disagree with that, does seem just as plausible tbh, although i’d say it’s probably a combination of Barca also realizing that nobody will pay up to their demands, not even via a loan + obligation to buy, whereas an option to buy clearly wasn’t in their plans either for a player soon to enter his last year of contract and whom is also injury prone.

Expensive ✅
Injury prone ✅
Fact is we have wasted half of the transfer window on this while we all knew it wouldn't happen.

I'm not sure of that. His actions at the end of the Super Cup and Laporta's words suggested that something was on, but a defender got injured so they've convinced him he'll be key for a while. That's just football. I think he was probably the best player in terms of talent we might get, but the cost and injury risk was very worrying. Now I'm concerned who the other options are. Buying in Jan is shit at the best of times, you end up buying someone out of favour or expensive.

He used us for a bigger contract… why on earth would you leave Barca for this juve. Not even non registered players would want to leave barca

so he missed on Tomori, Silva, Hancko and this guy lol

Watch him either pay 55 mil for that Koop of CB guy or some random dude that failed elsewhere and is frozen out like some Chelsea player
