Ill never understand why they prefer guys like nico and zhegrova to a homegrown cheap youngster like mbangula
italians overrate experience, don't they

add modric, bremer, vlahovic and another 2-3 good senior players to the group we once had at next gen (guys like yildiz, soulé, huijsen, miretti, muharemovic, mbamgula, savona, israel, etc) and we could have a similarity strong (or weak lol) team without spending fortunes on bums. building a team is complicated, but in hindsight we should have kept at least 4-5 youngsters instead of going for some thin plusvalenza. our managers should know better

Not exact on the players but I think that was more or less the strategy. The issue was the senior players we brought in turned out not to be any good after all.

I suppose it comes down to what you're saying - poor mercato choices have cost us big time. Not that that's a particularly insightful thing to say at this point lol

I don't know how the balance sheet looks or works but maybe after the first round of senior players didn't work out we chased plusvalenza to make up for it? Our scouting really sucks, including on our own players
