He was trying to “lift” the ball as he saw that defender come. Man, attack the ball and place your foot firmly against it.

People here are silent about it because he’s not Italian, but he is just a mediocre player and I don’t think he has the intelligence to ever become a top player. He has all the physical characteristics to boss the midfield every game, but he doesn’t have the drive and brain to do it. First midfielder who should be replaced from the starting 11 next season imo.

Not only is he the worst of the 3 mids this season, he probably fetches a good fee and plusvalenza too. And there should be plenty of teams interested as he's still young and fit.
