From what I understood of reports before kick off the ultras were threatening a pitch invasion to protest the shite state of affairs. At some point there was a fight with Toro fans, during which a fan was injured and went to hospital. It was first reported that the fan had a knife but then it came out that he didn't and was hit in the face with a tear gas cannister.

This is likely old and incorrect reporting now, idk what the more recent reports are saying

There were clashes between the two groups of ultras and the pigs before the game outside the stadium. A Juventus ultra was hit in the face by a tear gas canister and badly injured. Juve ultras wanted the game called off or they’d threaten to invade the pitch and cause problems. They ended up leaving the match in protest (the Torino ultras also supported the Juve ultras by removing their banners and no chanting etc during the game)

Just the usual Italian ultras fuckery.
