yesterday i wanted to buy a pair of simple shoes i've always had in the last 20 years or so: a pair of relatively simple, black leather trainers that i can wear with black training pants. and i simply couldn't find one, regardless of the price. i mean look at these from a random store selling multiple brands:

they are either fugly or useless low quality mesh that will last for a month. i went to like 10 stores and came home empty handed without even trying one pair. i can usually buy stuff for myself without issues, i'm not too picky. for a long time this was probably my most disappointed day as a consumer

okay, just found one: https://hu.sportsdirect.com/reebok-work-n-cushion-mens-trainers-130047 a similar pair wasn't in stock in any store. not a fan of the brand but i have not many options i guess

i also wanted to buy a pair of adidas samba's, and i've been told that they are out of stock everywhere, and are sold on the used market for double the original price lol. if the rolex hype wasn't enough for humanity... told one of the guys in a store that jj sells them online and the branding is quite subtle, he told me to go for it before the samba zombies discover it lol: https://store.juventus.com/en/96/31855/juventus-samba-team-shoes-

they are, absolutely. i was about to order one from the jj shop, but yesterday i went into a local store to buy some stuff for my gf and to my surprise they had 2 variations of the samba on stock in most sizes. many stores in budapest: zero stock. little store in little town won this time

so i ended up getting these for around 80€: https://www.adidas.com/us/samba-og-shoes/B75807.html i'll have to have the white one too if i see it in stock. or a yellow. whatever, it's fucking comfy. i never loved a simple shoe like that since i got the white red racer like a decade ago.
