And then they wonder why we have no good Italians in Serie A...
The fact that a single season in Cagliari make them demand more than €40m makes it impossible for Juve to even get close to Palestra. I mean Cagliari is currently #16 in the table. It's not like he is playing for Como or something

Now we are linked with Ugarte? WTF The guy cant even hold a place in a meh Man Utd team. I dont know him playing wise but I guess there is a reason to why he is benched often. Also say he has 0 goals and assists.
Are we going for EPL rejects? Is this our brilliant strategy?

The key ingredient here is Atalanta.. Should he be a Cagliari player owned fully by Cagliari he would have probably been sold already mid season with a 25M deal or something.

Remember when we thought De Ceglie is going to be next big thing and he turned out to be an average mofo.

Well that's not what's going to happen in this case.
De Ceglie was promising but I wouldnt say he was the next big thing promising.. He looked solid defensively and were okay going forward. Then we got him and he just didnt improve. I cant say he totally sucked, its just he didnt improve.
But yeah.. Palestra can be very good in most clubs.

De Ceglie was weak as hell. Couldn’t handle pressure, folded the moment the game got physical. Palestra is the complete opposite. Fearless, quick, strong, actually built for modern football. Everything you want in a fullback, he’s got it. You don’t get scouted by Barça for no reason. But he’s PL bound all day. Serie A has basically turned into a bargain bin for English clubs.

We dodged Calafiori, then went and dropped 60m on Koop. That money could’ve gone into a profile like Palestra instead. Now we’re paying for those decisions, and with the Openda deal, the cycle probably just keeps going.

Finance is obviously a huge problem but I would still say Italy's biggest problem is their grassroots infrastructure. The amount of talented Italian youth coming through is extremely low. You see a lot of u16/u17 talents struggling to make the transition to senior level football all because some bullshit Italian dinosaur thinks they're not 'mature' or 'tactical enough' for senior level football. And these players will play with the same mindset right through their 20s prioritising grinta and tactics over developing their skills.

There needs to be an infusion of several Klopp's, Fabregas typa coaches at least on a junior level and less of Allegro's and Mancini type coaches. This country needs to learn to adapt with the times.

Football is an entertainment business. You are not going to create a successful product with garbage stadiums and 1-0 jihadball. And this will ultimately impact finances of clubs who will struggle to afford the 'best Italian talent'.

All you will get is a cult of fans wanting to watch something different and even they are slowly disappearing.

True and with the Juve tax it would be even higher.

Agree with this. Italy needs to update into the modern way of football, high technicality and high athleticism. To finance the club, they can play statpadding game and sell some hyped youth to highest bidder. Also, having modern stadium will give better product too for supporters and helped the TV to get more viewers.

Their first obstacle however, is to chop off lots of dinosaurs in the federation. Italians are creative enough to create better product but those dinosaurs hold them back. They need massive asteorid impact moment so they become extinct. With their extinction, more fresh bloods will take the seat on the federation to create better product.
