Hey guys. I'm the "old man" here, and happy to take on the Unc persona, if you will. So please allow this boomer to rant a little bit.

I've been a fan since the early 1990s, as a result of following Roberto Baggio. I didn't "consciously" know I was a Juve fan. I was just tuning into Baggio's games, and in awe of his teammates, Vialli, Ravanelli, Marocchi (yes even him lol), Andy Moeller, and eventually some guy called Del Piero when Baggio had muscle problems and could not start games, or continue 90 minutes. Or...because "Marcello Lippi" haha (not a dig at our legendary manager...but there was a Part II of that relationship, but I digress...)

Anyway. When Baggio was pictured in a Rossonero outfit one summer, as I saw in magazines and on TV. I was like..."shit...this does not..compute." My eyes hurt.

I realized that I didn't actually care for Milan. This Juve team are where it's at. And the rest was history.

I am not here to write my life-story. I want to tell you guys, that "A LOT" has happened since. Juventus wrote history for both the right reasons, and for the wrong reasons. I've lost sleep on CL Final losses, or devastating L's we've taken along the way. There's always those "battle scars".

However, at the tender age of forty-something, the "way" I support Juventus FC andd the way I approach being a fan, has equally evolved.

in the 90s I was in school. then University.

I'm a grown-ass man now (not an ass-man no no hahaha). Responsibilities and shit. Not to sound patronizing. And to each their own of course. We all have different way in which "the Juventus experience" has been exposed to us, whether someone became a fan during the Conte era, or the Allegri era, or simply because of Cristiano effect etc... I even met dudes in the past at work that told me, "I was Juventus to the bone, until 2006 and then I was put off. I don't even watch football anymore."

^ I almost...almost became one of them. But again, I digress. There is a kind of tribalism mentality in football fandom.

Back to my evolution- sorry I went on a little bit of a tangent. This forty-something-boomer-millenial whatever you want to call me- has reached this exact point:

I don't really "care" about the trophies, the L's, the W's, the disappointing Draw's...the CL qualification, the CL embarrassment, the lack of qualifying to CL (lol), the Coppa Italia exit...signing Player X, or Player Y... rather -> I take whatever I get. I am in it for the journey. I know that sounds a little cringe, maybe? I don't know how to explain it.

It might even sound counter-intuitive, but, just enjoy the ride. At heart? I am an "Italian Football nerd" and I love calcio (and extremely disappointed at the Azzurri shitting themselves against Bosnia...though very happy for the latter if that makes sense. )

Do I lose sleep over embarrassing performances as I used to in the past? I rarely, if ever. If anything, I've been falling asleep to Juventus games, which I mainly attribute to Allegri ball + my old age (I used to smoke...I stopped..)

All of this post is to basically tell you kids: Enjoy the fucking ride. Don't let this team stress you. Winning is the only thing that counts is this FC's mantra. I don't wanna say that's bullshit, but let me tell you they're definitely not living up to that.

The moment our club ADMITS that "We are going to go into a re-build as part of a short-term title challenging project" then we can say this club has a logical north star. But signing players left right and center, and suddenly expecting success? Yeah, expect this banter era to last for a long-ass time.

Meanwhile. Enjoy the ride, guys, as painful as it is. Otherwise? And I hate to sound patronizing or condescending: Go support FC Barcelona or something. No headache, and you get the "full options" tier. Easy.

That is all. I hope nobody takes any of this personally. Of course, feel free to whine and complain. Just a friendly reminder, to take a step back before you get trigger happy on your keyboard/phone and start bashing the players, managers, boardroom, reffs etc...

Cheers. And #FinoAllaFine
