You know in video games they have those colored arrows beside a player's name or photo that tell you his form and morale, helping you adjust your lineup and make subs accordingly.

We need to figure out how to make that happen in real life to help this clueless guy!

You know it's never going to happen.

Thiago Motta :

“ Vlahovic is doing very well from a moral point of view. Mbangula came on very well: Conceicao made the play on the goal. We need those who come on during the game to keep and raise the level during the game. PSV has good players and a strong coach”
"A balanced match in which we improved our ability to push more men forward to attack the penalty area. We need players arriving from deeper positions. We can still improve. Football is a team sport: I am the first one who needs to improve."
"Continuous changes in midfield? I don’t think it creates confusion. We play every three days and have five top-level midfielders. #McKennie is playing a bit more because he has different characteristics from the other four. We need to increase intensity and dynamism while always staying fresh. Whoever is in the best shape always plays for the good of Juventus."
[Nico Schira]

Thiago Motta After Juventus-PSV

On Vlahovic and the Substitutions:
"Very good, not just him, but the others as well. Samuel came on well again, Francisco made the play, Khephren too. We need everyone because we have to maintain a high level for 95 minutes, both those who start and those who come on."
Compared to the September Victory:
"Many things have changed—the timing, the importance of the match, playing 180 minutes to reach the Round of 16. This is a victory, a step forward, but there's still the second leg where we must be at our best against a very good team. They know how to play football and have had a strong philosophy for a long time. We have to be ready for the return leg to achieve our goal: reaching the Round of 16."
More Players in the Box:
"It was a balanced match where we improved in bringing more players forward. We need to get into the box, attack the penalty area. Too often, we've done it with little strength and too few players, which reduces our chances of scoring. Today, we did a bit better, but we can still improve. We talk about it every day—we need players arriving from behind. The three midfielders, Weah from the right, the forwards—all of them need to attack the box because that’s where goals are scored."
"The First One Who Needs to Improve":
"This is a team sport. When I talk about individual performance, I am the first one who needs to improve. I have to make them understand the many aspects that can be improved. The demands on each player are the same. The right attitude is the main thing—everything else follows from that."

I'm starting to wonder if he thinks his subs are going to change a game and make him look like a genius or if he's shooting in the dark.

I guess its not necessarily his fault that Mbangula and FC7 would be quite so awful but I just can't think how he thought replacing Yildiz at half time was going to improve our performance. Kelly was the issue (to everybody besides the BBC) not Yildiz. Could have moved weah to the left or moved Yildiz to the middle, Muani left and Nico at CF?

I dunno. We won but were VERY lucky imo. I'm not convinced of Motta at all.

Remember when Sarri literally pointed a middle finger at Juve fans?

Well that's what Motta is doing with his words.

He is suffering from a delusion. His eyes might be playing tricks on him. We have seen some terrible matches from his predecessor but Motta is taking it to another level. There is nothing in our game. No spark, creativity, players are looking rattled, without confidence, sluggish. 3 lucky wins where we were 2nd best team throughout entire game and he thinks we have improved. There has been a small margin between win and a loss as we dont control any of the games. Get out!

Not a fan of this motta era so far. But I disagree with it being a another level to Allegro...v2 was horrific on the eyes and soul. Absolutely nothing other than the odd fluke.

Another poor line-up and reading of the game.

Thuram and Conceicao should be starting. Thuram is essential to whatever midfield combination we play and Conceicao creates opportunities.

Nice to see he finally dropped Koop though.
His tactics don't work without these two who make the difference. Rest is way to possession oriented. Koop has been horrific

It wasnt pretty at all. But in a larger sample of games Al-legri had much higher win %. That is not a fluke. We scored more and conceded less. Once again I did not like how we played. But right now I dont like how we play either and results are worse. Motta is too much set in his ideas to a point it has become detrimental to our results. I have not seen a coach as obsessed with a player like he is with Koop as AM, while the dutchman is ghosting on the pitch. Last night I didnt see the line up and genuinely thought he was playing from the start. I was trying to find him on the pitch :lol2: I was surprised he was out but alas he had to come on later on. And he did nothing. He will not do a single positive thing against inter and you can bet he will get 90 minutes. His subs are ranging from bad to horiffic, constantly killing our game. Why taking out Yildiz? Why is he playing Kelly as a LB or why allowing Veiga so much time on the ball, or benching Thuram? Motta is a football terrorist and needs to be dealt with quickly

He had to bring him on though... I think he was resting him for Inter

Junktoli will never have the balls to pull the trigger on Motta because he is so invested in this madness that he cant go back.

He fires MOtta and atht would be a death sentence for him too, because that would mean that the motta project was a total failure and he was the mastermind of it.

TLDR, we are fucked

Lippi : “Thiago Motta doesn’t excite me to be honest. I see a capable and focused coach who is dedicated to his work but he doesn’t excite. I think a coach must give feelings to his players and to the fans who follow the team.Beyond this coming off a coach in Allegri who has won a lot, I would’ve liked a coach who embodied the fans more” (@tuttosport)

Guys it's easy to shit on the coach from the comfort of your home, while you rub you balls and your dog barks at you, reminding you that's not really nice.

Let me see you implement Dutch total footie and Gasperini gegenpressing, making it not look like Allegri jihadiball at all.
