Vancouver seemed like a good option because I have to go through Toronto in any case, and would be the cheapest flight wise. The appeal to me is the west coast and natural beauty. No idea how much fun it would be otherwise as a solo traveler, being Canada.

Edit: oh yeah, there's also the world cup which I'm not sure adds or subtracts.

If I do go to Spain I'm thinking of at least a few days in Madrid then go to Barca. Those tourists though

Rome was my first choice but Madrid fits the budget better. And to go Italy but not see Juve would be a shame, even if my care cup is currently empty, so maybe another time.
I'm moving back to Canada in the summer. Stop in Toronto a few days and I can show you around. :p

if you are going to toronto consider vistin niagra falls too. its short drive by car or ride by train

I've been to Niagara before, was cool, even during Covid restrictions. Never thought about going the other two places though. Are those serious suggestions? :D

I suggest doing research and deciding. It’s really personal preference on where you’d want to go. Even from Toronto cities like Montreal are short distance away if you want to visit

Montreal could be an option in the future (if there will be other opportunities, given the possible economic disaster looming). I'd look into that and the others you mentioned but BC looks appealing.

Think my heart is set on Spain for now

I've been in London for the last 8 years. Aww no I'm not moving to Toronto until August.

I agree. :p
Ah shit, no way. I've been living in London for the last two years. Lived in Reading for another two as well.

Is there a specific reason you're moving back? I guess family and friends.

Was just in Barcelona and Andorra over the Easter break. Barcelona was as fun as ever (granted I go where the locals hang out, not where the guiris go exactly).

Didn't realize! So that's where you've been hanging out!

I was just in London in February. My best friend in California, a Winnipeg native, had been living in Silicon Valley since 1990. He sold his place, packed up, and is moving to Toronto right now. So you'll have company. :)

My 34 year old cousin passed away on Friday. He had type 1 diabetes since he was a kid but always managed to keep Diabetic Ketoacidosis at bay, except this one time.

Sucks not being able to attend his funeral. He was one of the best people I knew.

I can't even imagine what his parents and brother must be feeling like.
That seriously sucks, so sorry to hear that. I've been a Type 1 for 31 years now, but there's no guarantees.

We should do a Tuz meetup next time you are here.

Damn, I forgot you were there now!

My February trip was a surgical strike though. Gave a talk at a fancy dinner at Hakkasan in Mayfair the day after Chinese New Year, and pretty much skipped town the next morning.

I'll will find reasons to linger more next time!

Ouu you're still in London?

Eeeek I've been living with my boyfriend and we broke up a few months ago. I decided I don't like England enough to be so far from my family so I'm heading back. It'll be a big change because I haven't lived in Canada for 10 years. I hardly recognise it ![

Si, señora. It would be fun to meet up for some drinks before you go back to Canada.

Ah, sounds a bit like my situation. After I get citizenship I'll probably just go back to Bolivia too. I like it here, but like you said, just not enough to be far away from my family, especially from my twin brother.

I'm sure you'll settle right back into Canadian life. It's going to be nice not being jammed into a small island with twice the population of Canada.

I'd love to meet up!
What brought you to England? How are you coping with the weather here? I didn't think I would struggle so much but it's always grey, cold and gloomy - even in the summer!!
