His numbers really show that his pregressive carry is really high, he is that kind of player, but dont ask him to defend, his instruction should be just shadowing opponent

I think that's something we have been missing.

A player who can actually keep and carry the ball.

Sick of seeing our players fall over when they try to dribble or blast the ball into oblivion

In a back three the wingbacks really dont have that much responsibility defensively other than just being there lol. Joao seems fine for that. I’ll take whatever defensive trade off in exchange for what he brings in the offensive phase.

So who were the Porto experts that said he was awful? I guess they're still confident he will regress pretty soon?
he was a fullback there, plays as a wingback here. might fit his characteristics better, but after two friendlies, it's way early to tell how he'd work in a team on the long run

Im here - didn’t get to see the game yesterday but vs dortmund he was bad other than that one „run“… he got bullied defensively by dortmunds wingers.

So you judge him after a total of 90 mins in friendlies ?
