Yes, Cabal with average talent, fairly slow and the dribbling ability of any other CB. Cabal might become a half-decent backup CB in the future, but he is not starter material here. Kelly has been really good this year, but needs to rest a game soon. That's where Cabal could have been useful.

Technically, Cabal is a liability, so I understand why he is put on the wing to not damage too much. But even Kostic would be more helpful on the wing than Cabal. He is a LCB that, if he wasn't left footed, would never have been put out wide.
His participation in the attacking phase is really impressive. If it wasn't because of strength of injuries he could have been a starter and more efficient than Gatti and Rugani. He could take on the LWB role like what Kalulu does on the right side.

Let's agree to disagree then. One of the reasons we lack creativity is that we put out CBs here and there and expect that to create a stable set up. I don't want to see Kalulu on the RWB position unless absolutely necessary. I don't even see the point with applying a 343 system where the wingbacks are pivotal for the system to work but we only have one player really suited for it. I don't include Mario because he has so far not really added much and Tudor refuse to use two wingbacks simultaneously (because that would in his view create an unbalance).

Cabal, when he is fit again, be a physical and imposing player but his technical ability is too poor, and he is too slow, to be out wide. I would even prefer Kelly in LWB over Cabal. And again, I don't think anyone would have given it another thought if he was right footed. He wouldn't be playing in WB position then unless it is to give him minutes to recover his form or to sink really deep.
