He was better than the last game. Still did another mistake that nearly cost us when he misjudged a simple header and it went off his back and Atalanta attacked to get a corner. Also positionally got caught out a few times with Bellanova getting down the wing.

We need much better as a starter and I hope Cabal can step up in the meantime.

They even got a corner? People will go lengths in criticising players they don't like. I've seen Thuram make 5-6 dumb mistakes yesterday alone but he still played his part. Mistakes happen every other minute. Look at that young Real Madrid defender, lol...

We need better for sure in the long run (same as probably 8 other positions tbf) but he's not first on the chopping list anymore; not even among the defenders... All to the Gatti thread!

It was a good chance for them that led to the corner though, partly also through bad defending from Gatti. They cut the ball across the face and it could have been turned in but got deflected for a corner.

Agreed that Gatti is more of an issue though.

Where was he on their opener?

Another game and more poor defending. Not sure why he decides to crouch and lean into attackers when defending crosses instead of jumping. He's a tall guy, it shouldn't be that difficult.

An absolute liability. Not just on the penalty where not only is he sleeping, he then runs into the attacker in our box.

Not long after he kicks fresh air then the Milan attacker to give a free-kick to them just outside the box.

Also completely loses Leao on his first big chance.

This guy keeps improving and becomes a solid starter for us

Or

This guy keeps playing for us and we use the mystique of "Italian-style defending" to flog him at a high price to an EPL team

Which is more likely and which would you prefer?

Back to not being very good.

Completely flat footed on the goal and got caught out a few times. A consistent issue seems to be not jumping when defending a corner and instead leaning into the attacker.

I actually seen him jumping(or at least attempting to) on most occasions, but he just seems to get beaten too easily by anyone that isn’t half his size…
