He left AC Milan for free in 2021.

I know PSG offered him a fat contract but it's isn't more than what we are paying Vlahovic.
That's 4 years ago though. I'm not going to delve into revisionism or try to get my head around the market back then. Essentially you're saying we could have got Donnarumma, but I don't think that has ever been realistically the case. It's more like saying we should have offered the world for him. He was getting €12m at PSG plus bonuses, plus whatever the agent fees were.

My original post was about having a replacement lined up for when we knew Buffon was leaving.

We should of been of knew better than anyone just how important it was to have a strong player in that position and how much of a great investment it could be.

We half assed it with Chesney and thats why we are where we are now.

We didn’t have to sign Donna, we coild have simply went for the atalanta keeper before he signed with them. For some reason, we preferred this guy even though it was obvious to everyone with a brain that Carnesechi was the next big thing

I have a feeling we did it as a favor to galliani

One of the best if not the best signing this club ever made was Gigi Buffon. Was a great investment.

We should have learnt from this and went all out for the best goalkeeper we could possibly get when we knew Buffon was close to leaving.

Not comparing the two in terms of ability but Donnamruma was probably the best Investment we could have made.
Remember that summer when there were three or four hot Italian goalkeeper prospects? Donnarumma, Scuffet and I forgot who else.

We signed Woj. Could have signed the next big thing and have him spend a couple of years as Gigi Buffon's understudy but we signed the Arsenal guy

Are you guys talking about some twilight zone where Milan sell us Donnarumma, or we beat PSG to his signature, or another keeper?

Scuffet turned out to be a bit of a dud bit there's no telling how a player does in another scenario. I remember guys like Falcone, Plizzari, Gasparini all being raved about. Italy doesn't struggle for keepers but only so many can rise to the top.

Like 7 or 6 goals conceded after second balls were not collected by the midfield and all u guys do is talk about MDG who had one blunder with the near post shot.

You know what Leali might have been one of the ones I'm thinking of, maybe we picked him.

Some people here seem to think we have some sort of divine right on players and that every player who didn’t sign with Juve and went on to become successful was a huge missed opportunity.
