He is expected that he will stay at Juventus for at least one more year, until his contract expires and then calmly decide his future as a free agent next summer. He doesn’t give the impression that he is willing to lower his salary to change teams immediately.

I love Kolo, but €60m is craziness. And wouldn’t even shock me after it’s all said and done if the final figure will end up being 65-70M.

I don't exactly care if his salary demands are within reach. We have no other options right now. Yes I do think we need him. We're one Yildiz/David/Conceicao injury away from disaster and at 50m next season there's little to worry about his book value from there on.

Having a contract that goes up in salary would've been fine but never ever ever should the final year of a contract be paid that much. It's really only negative in every way for the club.
