We are longshooters dream to play against. We leave too much spaces outside the box to exploit for players with a good shot.

Against Inter and Dortmund there are many examples of how we fail to close this space because we’ve dropped too deep. Push more up or use 3 dedicated midfielders
There seems to be an inclination to have players behind the ball... on Calhanoglu's first goal, Locatelli and Thuram were both behind the ball, too cautious in case Augusto beats his man. Similar case on Nmecha's goal, Koopmeiners was beside Kelly, behind the ball (line) incase Kelly gets dribbled past, ultimately too far from the shooter... either the midfielders need to get better at body positioning and shot blocking techniques or need to stop trying to double up and watch your own man, or maybe the assumption is that most teams don't have good long-range goal scorers

i saw some comments saying that from the opposite angle it looks like there was no touch and this angle is deceiving. i won't bother looking it up

either way the penalty against kelly was unjust and should have been revoked by var. ifab (the regulatory body) literally posted this:

A friend of mine (neutral when it comes to Serie A clubs) told me that the Anton situation is more of a penalty then Kelly situation later on (which was awarded to Dortmund and they scored).

He basically agrees with you guys.

So, what's the point of VAR?
