Why is he wearing #23 in NT? Quite random number for a centre forward lol
I googled it.
After the match, reporters asked Vlahović who his role model was when he chose the new number.
“Michael Jordan. Because he is one of the greatest athletes of all time. For me, the best after Novak Djokovic,” said Dušan Vlahović after his excellent performance against Switzerland in Zurich.

Perfect role model, Michael Jordan spent a lot of his life/career battling mental illness too.

Loved seeing him celebrate with Adzic like that. He was the first one there. He wouldn't have done that in recent years, he was too down in the dumps especially after not scoring and being marked out of a big game like today.

He's turned a corner and hopefully will continue to be useful. Thank god he wasn't frozen out.

The worst thing about him is that he actually gives his best, which just happens to be not enough at a merely technical, tactical, and even physical level. He’s simply a bad player, Fiorentina tier at best, and in any case noticeably worse than Kean, who at least had incredible athletic qualities. The problem is Tudor. Any competent manager knows that every offensive player (both midfielders and attackers) would be better than Vlahovic, while he’s making the same mistake that almost cost us qualification last season when he benched Muani for this walking meme.

Im not sure why we are ranting about Vlahovic when he got a start for two reasons:

1. 2 games off the bench resulting in 2 goals. Due for a start.

2. David lack of size meant struggled a little to impose himself physically when isolated and only served with long balls. And vs Inter we defended deep and tactically needed a more physical presence up top to occupy defenders attention a little.

Both reasons made sense to me.

Number 1 i get.
Number 2 though
Vlahovic even though a big guy, is anything but a physical presence. Add to that the fact that he can't hold on to a ball to save his life, it makes him the worst possible choice to play a game like this. I'd rather have Merino as a CF than him

Im not saying he is good at it, nor he is my ideal choice. But look at Tudors lineup and approach, a CM as LM, A CB as RM, and Koop as fake AM that drops to CM. His gamepan was to play conservative and drop back, live on Inters mistake rather then usual pace and creativity forward.

So for that gameplan, vs Inters 3 big CBs, the 190 CM Vlahovic he felt was better fit size wise for some duels then the 175 CM David. I get that logic. Don't need to agree with it. But get it.

Especially since we already seen how isolated the small David gets when Tudor tries long balls at him last games...

Also obviously its key factor that Vlahovic was getting rewarded for two heroic goals in brief sub appearances first 2 games.
